Snow!

Ohmigosh! Snow!  And we are excited!

It’s really the kids first snowfall… at least one they could play in. Although they’ve seen snow at my parents house, it did not snow and was pretty crusty – not good for making snowmen. And and home, well… we had a single snow fall that melted in a matter of minutes. I didn’t even time to put on their snow pants!

This morning, as we were going to church I looked out the window and thought, “is that snow? or particulate from someone’s roof? Twenty minutes later, large fluffy flakes were flying and all the kids were taking turns standing on the table to look out the nursery windows.lily_snow Very exciting!

We came home and immediately changed into snow type clothing. The cuddler was not too happy with that idea. He’s in this “I’m not wearing a coat” stage that boys seem to go through from age 2 til 37. Mittens didn’t last very long either. I’m surprised he wasn’t out there in a diaper.

Lala on the other hand was very determined to make her first snow man. She was a snowball rollin’ gal. And just stacking the snowballs was not acceptable, we had to have arms, eyes, nose… the whole works. It took a lot of convincing to get her to go with a hatless look, but in the end, hot chocolate won.

BTW, hot chocolate is apparently a good idea, but in reality is a hot drink they were both suspicious of… Lala also asked me several times if her thickener was in it (it pretty much melted to nothing). It wasn’t quite as magical as presented on television.
