Friday night is pizza night around here. We all look forward to it as the signal that the weekend is here. Because the weekend means, ‘mommy won’t wake me up.’
Lately, Lala has become very grumpy in the morning. The first time I woke her up and she told me “Go go the cuddler!”, I laughed. The 20th time, it wasn’t so funny. When I was late to a meeting at work that I called, it wasn’t so funny.
Although Lala goes goes to bed around 7.30pm, she doesn’t actually fall asleep sometimes until 9.30pm, playing in bed. We have a routine – but it doesn’t make her tired or relax enough to go to sleep. If she wasn’t 3, I’d be thinking about sticking her on the treadmill to wear her out…
What kind of a bedtime routine do you have? Do your kids go to sleep at right away?

7 Talk To Me!:
I think as long as they stay in bed, even if they don't fall asleep right away, it's okay. They're learning the responsibility of falling asleep themselves. As far as waking them up in the morning, maybe try a fun little alarm clock that will get them up.
Wow I remember those days and my kids did the same thing. But they were early (and I mean early) risers. I miss those days. You know when your kids are young and you wish they were older...well be careful what you wish for. I LOVE my kids with all my heart but I don't like that they are older with families of their own. I miss them being young and cute and dependent on me.
I agree with you, Ellie. It's a good feeling when they're young and need you.
Love weekend time when you can sleep in! Our typical routine includes putting the children to bed much earlier than the time we would acutally like them to fall asleep. They are allowed to have books and a night light. Generally a half hour to an hour later they fall asleep and it is still fairly early. I dont think you are alone in the awake-children-dilema! Hope you get a good night's rest!
Wow... well, you and I have discussed my sleep issues. But the latest is that she is now in her "big girl bed" and wakes up four times per night. First time about three hours after she goes to bed- so between 11 and 12. Second time around 1 or 1:30. Third time between 3 and 4 and the last time between 5 and 6... which is when we decide to cut our (sleep) losses and bring her into our bed. I can't remember a time in my life when I've been so continuously exhausted for an extended number of days, weeks, etc.
(Did you intend to use Lala's IRL name in your post in the third paragraph?)
Happy Valentine's Day! I hoe your day is full of lots of love. Have a very relaxing day!
Stopping by with my daily comment love! Hope you enjoy your day.
